Come & Try Day
Working on Rodanbraes path
Around 80 folk attended the launch evening which featured a presentation and photographic displays of local birds, flowers and sports and recreational activities. Ron Edwards, the Chairman, began by welcoming everyone and saying that it was a tremendous turnout on a cold winter’s evening. He said that this was an exciting venture as the Trust has already identified a number of projects which it hopes to progress immediately in co-operation with local interest groups and landowners. These include a nesting island for swans and other birds which breed on the loch, maintaining and improving pathways and new information boards and booklets.
Two long-standing groups, Kinghorn Loch Users Group and Kinghorn Pathways now come under the umbrella of the Trust, together with a new Walking Group and Bird Watching interests. The Trust involves everyone working in co-operation and a vital element of this is the relationship with landowners who are so key to the success of our projects. Current projects are proceeding well, and landowners have already been extremely generous in their aid for the works, whether by helping with groundworks, donating materials and vital support and advice.

After a massive delay, during which time the stability of the Pettycur cliff face has been investigated, we may be getting to a point where it is accepted that the project can at last go ahead. The consultants report is now received. It is surely inconceivable that the green light will not be given. Fingers crossed!!
